About Thinkable

The public conversation is getting louder, but not better.

Thinkable was created in response to something many of us feel: there’s more access to information than ever, but fewer places to slow down and actually hear an idea take shape.

What We Do

Our events bring leading public thinkers to the stage for live, unscripted talks on the issues shaping our world across science, politics, culture, and beyond.

It’s designed for people who don’t need performance, just a clear line to the ideas that matter.

Thinkable is built on the belief that people still want to be challenged. That a well-framed conversation can do more than inform it can reconnect us to the kind of thinking that doesn’t fit inside a headline.

These events are personal, present, and built for a public that’s still paying attention.

Desh Amila — Founder of Thinkable

About the Founder

Desh Amila

Thinkable was founded by Desh Amila, an entrepreneur, producer, and educator with over a decade of experience creating globally recognized intellectual events. With more than 20 speaker series to his name, Desh has built a reputation for translating complex ideas into thoughtful, compelling live formats.

In 2011, he founded Think Inc., the first events company in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to touring public intellectuals and scientists. He went on to launch the multimedia platform This is 42, and co-founded Dissident Dialogues, now the world’s largest heterodox intellectual gathering.

He also produced the documentaries Islam and the Future of Tolerance, featuring Sam Harris and Maajid Nawaz, and Better Left Unsaid, which examines political extremism with clarity and depth.
